I believe a leader should set a course for an inspiring and direction. I feel strongly to be connected to the company's purpose and vision. Then form the vision and strategy for design (brand and UX). I often take a step back to see the big picture before dive deep into the tactics.
I lead through culture and put emphasis on the people.
Leading through culture is about setting new norms that support creative work. Culture is simply what people believe and how they behave. Culture is the powerful force that gardens how people get things done. It’s like wind, if you channel it, you can do some amazing things, but if you sail up wind, against it, it can be really tough. Don’t have change the entire culture, but can nudge culture in different ways when see challenges.
I believe in transparency, open conversations, empowering people with strong ownership, putting the customer first, take smart risks, and truly invest in people's future.

I grow a creative team and infuse UX into the whole company.
I have the experience with early stage startups where design serves as an agency for the whole company. Often, design was seen as the end of the process make it pretty phase. Educating the company what design is about and what design can do drives my daily work. I have grown a service design team into an embedded design team. My vision is to infuse design thinking into company level where everyone is fluent in UX thinking and everyone owns UX. Designers will facilitate design thinking activities and execute on the final design. I believe a design leader’s primary job is leveling up the team. not just convincing them they should consider UX.
